Mac Impassioned - Review and swatches

I actually had this for almost a year already, but, I really seldom use it because, I'm still trying to finish my Girl About Town tube. Yeah, I know... I'm a lipstick sucker. haha.

Moving on......

Mac Impassioned Lipstick is a nearly neon pink-red with a hint of coral warmth. It has an amplified creme finish. It yields opaque color coverage, and it has a fairly creamy consistency that enables a good glide of color to spread evenly across the lips during application.  (captioned from Temptalia)

Don't get me wrong. I really really love the color specially when my lips are hydrated enough to wear such bold color like this! The description that Temptalia wrote on her blog definitely says it all. IT IS NEON. Period. BUT, it's such a pretty color when worn on your lips. CAUTION: This color is not for the faint of heart! And if you don't like people looking at you because of you wearing this, well, better skip this! lol. Kidding aside, when I first saw the tube, I thought I wasn't able to pull it off, with my NC 20 skin, I'm afraid that it might look too bright or too red on me, but hey, it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and unique color that I ever had! It instantly brighten up my face! It's good for those lazy days that you don't want to put an effort or look too made up, all you gotta do is swipe a layer or two and voila! You're all good to go. Mac Impassioned Lipstick has an amplified formula too which is my favorite among all of MAC's finishes and has that distinct vanilla smell but don't worry, you won't taste it. ^_^

It definitely stays for hours, and when I says hours, about 5-6 hours on my lips without eating of course, and when it fades out, it leaves a really pretty pink stain. :) OOOhhhhhh, such a pretty lipstick!

 Pros:

Amplified finish
Creamy, opaque and doesn't bleed
Unique color
Lasts for hours

Cons:

Expensive. (as all MAC lipsticks are)

My Orly Nail Polish in Blushing Bud

I ordered in Zalora last Wednesday and I posted it here. I really want to try the Orly nail Polishes already because they look so cute and pretty from the bottle.

Blushing Bud is in Orly Bloom Spring I Collection for 2010.

Swatches:

Application was a breeze. It has a perfect texture and goes on opaque even at only two coats. In my opinion this is a mixture of colors between fuchsia, wine color and pink. :)

This will be a great partner when I wear MAC Girl About Town! ♥

**** UPDATE:

After doing laundry (as in I handwashed to see if it really won't chip) and wearing this for 4 days already, it didn't chip big time talaga unlike China Glaze! AMAZING! This nail polish is L-O-V-E!

To see is to believe:

Can you see the very minimal chippings?

(My rate with10 being the highest)
Staying Power: 10/10
Value: 10/10 (you can it with your coupon code at Zalora)
Ease of use: 10/10 (it's a no brainer!)

Orly Fowl Play - swatch and review

As promised, here's my swatch of Orly's Fowl Play. This is one of the three nails lacquers that I ordered again from Zalora. You can find my entry here.

These are all taken on outdoor lighting.

The tiny gold flakes are so pretty. ♥

The verdict:

I don't know how to describe the color of Fowl Play. It is a dark purple-based lacquer with tiny silver and blue glitters and gold specks. When put all together, it's like a galaxy. :) Consistency is runny, thus, making it so sheer that it took me 4 coats to see it like this but, I honestly don't mind because of it's pretty color!

Ratings:
(My rate with10 being the highest)
Staying Power: to be updated after 1 week
Value: 10/10
Ease of use: 10/10 (it's runny and sheer but hey, I don't really mind it)
Pigmentation: 9/10  (it's sheer so I have to apply it up to 4 coats, but after that, I forgot how sheer it was because I was awed by the color pay off!)

Price: Php349.75
Place: Zalora

How about you? Have you tried Orly polishes yet?

My Orly Nail Lacquer in Royal Navy

Orly Royal Navy is part of Orly's "In the Navy" line.

This color is LOVE. I always love blue on my nails, because my hands look good with it and I find it flattering on my skintone. I've never seen/wear anything like this before. Yeah, this one is such a unique shade IMO. It's like a creme nail polish with a subtle glitter accent that looks so pretty! The glitters are tiny but once applied, you can see the pieces and particles.

It's a dark but vibrant color. Maybe because of the glitters, but i dunno... It's just PRETTY and VIBRANT. One of my favorite nail polish of all time! I just keep on staring at it. :)

Let's see if it will also last on my nails like Blushing Bud. ;-)

See the tiny shimmers on my nails? (pls. forgive the application lol)
Applied 3 coats w/o top coat. Dried on semi matte.

With Bobbie Fast Dry top coat. So glossy! :)

I am in-love with it.. *faints*

Here are some more swatches on natural day light.

Value: 10/10 (you can get it with your coupon code at Zalora)
Ease of use: 10/10 (it's a no brainer!)

Verdict:

For the price of Orly Nail Polishes, I must say that it's so worth it! I won't mind spending another Php349.75 just to get one after I run out of this. It's really worth the price because you'll get an awesome quality and get what you pay for. **winks**

How about you? Have you tried Orly nail polishes already? Which color appeals to you most? :)

My Fitflop Collection - Part 1

Whoa- It's been weeks since I last updated my post here. I got fed up with work and school preps for my 2nd and 7th Grader. :) Oookay, moving on.... I have a confession to make: I AM A FITFLOP ADDICT. My addiction for this sandals started nearly 2 years ago I think.

Me and my hubby always go to Divisoria (you know, to shop and look for something that we like and need for our house and his motorbike..stuffs for school, house, etc. It's a shopper's haven where you can get stuffs at much cheaper price when you buy it in wholesale) so we tend to walk a lot. There are many times that we were able to spend a good 5 hours there and walking that long can really be a burden for our feet specially when we're just wearing our good 'ol espadrilles. Even though the soles are soft, I noticed that my feet still ache and felt sore. I dunno if it is the footbed that's been causing it but I'm sure that it's not comfortable and tolerable if I'll walk for another hour. So, when we got back one time from our trip, I told hubby my woes on my aching feet and he said we'll look for a really nice shoes for me so I will stop complaining. gotcha! haha!

Fitflop has been my main choice because of it's promise of comfort. When I got my first pair, I am truly amazed on how comfortable it is! True to it's claim, I did not experienced any strains or aches after long hours of walk. In fact, I wear my Fitflops most of the time because my feet feels so relaxed and have you got a chance to see their new collections yet? They-are-awesome. It may be costly for some, but for me, every penny is so worth it!!! The fact that it has a shock absorbing microwobbleboard and super soft footbed, you can easily find a good fit if you're a narrow or wide-footed person because they have awesome selections for both type. Since I'm between the two, I'm able to wear neither, the difference was just the sizing; I wear US8 on narrow-footed styles and US7 on wide-foot ones. The versatility of these sandals are great. You can wear it for a semi-formal event or if you just want to be casual and prepped. You'll surely find a style for your needs. :)

As for me, I love versatility so when it comes to colors, I always prefer to be on the safe side.

Here's my small collection:

Priced at Php 4995.00 at the time I bought it at Res-Toe-Run, Festival Mall. I have it for 2 years already. It's still looks like the same when I first used it.

I actually lost a stone already, but the super accommodating staffs at Fitflop gladly sent 5 pcs. of stones at my nearest branch so I was able to replace it! Hooray for great after-sales service!

Priced at Php 2500.00 in Fitflop Kiosk, ATC at the time I bought it. I have it for around 2 years already and it still looks nice.

Priced at Php 2000.00 at Fitflop Sm Southmall. Bought it on sale.

A pretty pinkish-red gamusa. I have it for over a year already.

Priced at Php 3995.00 at SM Southmall at the time I bought it. I have this for about 2 years already. :)

Priced at 3500.00 at SM Southmall at the time I bought it. Been using this for over a year already, and it still looks new!

These super comfy sandals retails from Php 2500 to as much as Php15k for a limited one! Yes, it may be that pricey, BUT I guarantee you that once you wear one, you will never look back again on your other footwear lolz. I owe my back pain to my Fitflops because true to its claim, it helps in relieving my back pains whenever I'm walking for long hours and also, it helps in toning my thighs.

On caring for my Fitflops, I gently scrub their footbed wide a toothbrush and a drop of dishwashing liquid and voila! It will instantly look new! ^_^ I haven't really tried washing the ones with a gamusa texture because I'm afraid the soapy water will ruin the color, and Fitflop has a cleaner specially made for their sandals with a gamusa material.

It's just sad that there's A LOT of knock offs Fitflop sandals everywhere! And worst? People are ACTUALLY buying them! :(  Well, they may want to wear it for the sake of wearing one, but they can never experience the comfort and benefits of the real Fitflop. (I can distinguish if a person's wearing a knock off even from afar haha! That's my hidden talent **wink**)
So, Let's SAY NO TO FAKE!

So, I will post the 2nd part of my collection sometime soon! :)

How about you? Have you gotten yourself and your feet a treat? What is your favorite Fitflop sandals?

Another dupe for a famous MAC lipstick - Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in Pinkerbell

Yes. Another dupe alert here! Who doesn't love cheap dupes for the pricey MAC lipstick right? Well, as you know, I am a big fan of MAC and I totally dig their lipsticks! (aside from lustre and cremesheen finish) I really love the staying power, pigmentation, sleek application, the high end feel of the tube and of course, the finishes of amplified, matte and satin (which are my favorites!). I already have 10 MAC bullets and I really intend to add some more colors if I am just aren't on a MAC lipstick ban (seriously? my other half's quite puzzled on how am I able to finish all those 10 tubes! haha), however, I feel that it won't be wise to just spend a thousand bucks for a single lippie when you can get a dupe for only a fraction of its price (okay, I know... reasons even on a lipstick ban lolz). So, since Wet n Wild is know to have some good dupes for some MAC famous lipsticks re: Rebel (Sugar Plum Fairy), Sail la vie (Purty Persimmon), Viva Glam Nicki (Pinkerbell)- and since I know an online store who sells these babies for such a cheap price (half the price from malls I'm sayin' here) I ordered 2 again: 24 Carrot Gold which is a medium orange color and Pinkerbell. I have already did a post about the former yesterday and just like what I've said, I'll do a separate post for Pinkerbell. ( such a cute name! haha!). Let's start.

Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in Pinkerbell has a bright pink with yellow undertone color. It is such a very vibrant color and looks so good against my skin (slightly lighter than NC20 here). It really reminded me of MAC's Viva Glam Nicki which I don't have, but had swatched it a couple of time on my lips. It also kinda have the same shade like MAC Chatterbox, only this one is much brighter and has a more pink tone than the former (I let go of Chatterbox because I can't seem to make it look good on me) I can say that it really has the same shade like VG Nicki on me! Like the other WNW Megalast lipcolor that I purchased, this has a decent staying power, has a very pigmented semi-matte color which isn't drying on my lips. (just be sure to use lip balm prior to applying) I am always happy whenever I find a great dupe of MAC lipsticks specially if it's a drugstore brand!  (I find it so rewarding haha)*yippeeeyyy*

 Lip swatch:

                                                                            Selfie shots:

Pros:
Very pigmented like the other WNW Megalast lipstick that I own
A dupe for MAC Viva Glam Nicki!
Affordable at Php 148.00 at The Primp Pad
Semi-matte finish that isn't drying
Opaque in just 2 swipes
Did not settled on the lines of my lips
Did not feather nor bleed
Doesn't cause allergic reactions on my lips (flaking, extreme dryness, itchiness)

Cons:
The packaging feels so cheap
Not always available on our local Wet n Wild counters

How about you? Have you tried this already? :)

Orange lipstick you say? Try Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in 24 Carrot Gold - Review, swatches & photos

I just can't get enough of Wet n Wild Megalast lipsticks since I bought Sugar Plum Fairy and Just Peachy. I was overwhelmed by it's quality for such a cheap price! Good thing I was able to get them from The Primp Pad for a really great deal! *winks*:D Anyway, one reader asks if I already tried Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in Pinkerbell or some "orange shade" from the Megalast line. I already know what Pinkerbell looks like because I was supposed to get it together with Sugar Plum Fairy (it's a pretty pink color which a lot says a very good dupe for MAC Viva Glam Nicki).

I am so curious about wearing an orange lipstick when MAC released their Hayley collection which consists of an orange colored lippie a.k.a. Sounds Like Noise. I was really hesitant to get it because first, I know I will not wear it often enough and 2nd, I'm not sure if I'll look good or funny wearing it. haha. So I looked over at Google if Wet n Wild has an orange lipstick and boom! 24 Carrot Gold showed up. As usual, I can't resist the temptation so I texted The Primp Pad if they still have one (glad that they still have one!) and I ordered it together with Pinkerbell (will do a separate post for it).

Here it is:

24 Carrot Gold has a creamy semi-matte formula in a medium orange shade. You'll easily get an opaque color with just 2 swipes on your lips. It is pigmented like Just Peachy and lasts quite long on my lip (of course, without eating or else, I'll have to re-apply). I really went out of my boundary with this color but I must say, I'm glad I did! It wasn't as scary as you may think (scared that some might think you've got spaghetti sauce on your mouth kind of thing haha). It's a pretty color though and for me, very wearable and I'm thankful it's not as in "orange fruit" orange color because I will be able to use it and not feel awkward. :D

Lip swatch:
It settled into the lines on my lips because I didn't moisturized it with lipbalm prior applying. Yeah, I was that excited to use it. lolz. Please don't do what I did. :)

And here's my selfie shots wearing
Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in 24 Carrot Gold.

Pros:
Affordable at Php148.00 only at The Primp Pad.
Creamy, opaque and very pigmented.
Lasts for quite a long time w/o eating of course.
Not drying and did not feathered out.
I did not get any allergic reactions (like lip flaking and itchiness)

Cons:
THE PACKAGING feels realy cheap. (hey, what do you expect^_^)
Not available here in our local counters.

I think, I satisfied my curiosity already about orange lipsticks and if it will be wearable or look alright with me (I hope I didn't looked awful haha).

How about you? Have you tried an wearing an orange lipstick?
